On May 26, Sheila Gulli Almeida successfully defended her Integrated Master's dissertation in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.
Her dissertation, entitled "Efficiency Study of the Platforming Debutanizer at the Sines Refinery", was carried out at Galp under the supervision of Eng. Nuno Miranda (Galp) and Professor Mário Eusébio (Department of Chemistry). The aim of her work was to develop a simulation model of the debutanizer column in the Platforming unit at the Sines Refinery, enabling the monitoring of its operational efficiency, the identification of the optimal timing for column washing, and the evaluation of the impact of different operating conditions on both process performance and economic efficiency.
