Professors Carlos Lodeiro and José Luís Capelo publish a special issue of the Dyes and Pigments Journal (Elsevier)

09-09-2014

Professors Carlos Lodeiro and José Luís Capelo from the BIOSCOPE group at Chemistry Department, CEOS of the Proteomass Scientific Association, have just coordinated a Special Issue on the Dyes and Pigments Journal (Elsevier). This special issue brings us the unique occasion to witness the work of leading researches in all branches of the field, including the design of new molecules, new chemosensors/probes, new applications in material science and biosciences and new methods of analysis – says Professor Carlos Lodeiro and Professor José Luís Capelo. Here are collected 28 research articles, from international research groups, that involve the use of Light as an analytical tool.

The special issue is dedicated to 1st IC3EM (1st International Caparica Congress on Chromogenic and Emissive Materials, 2014) that is taking place in Costa da Caparica from 8 to 11 September, bringing together 280 international scientists of the optical fields that are based on light and color as measuring tools. Leading scientists of the field are giving conferences, namely Prof. A. Prasanna De Silva (UK), Prof. Fernando Pina (Portugal), Prof. Ramón Martínez-Mañez (Spain), Prof. Olá Söderberg (Sweden) e Prof. Engin U. Akkaya (Turkey). The scientific program comprises 120 conferences and 90 posters. The Conference Series IC3EM on Chromogenic and Emissive Materials starts this year 2014 in Caparica (Portugal) and aims to take forward the “Caparica” name throughout the world, and link it to Light and Colour.
