Description
Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy is a highly sensitive spectroscopic technique that provides excellent detection limits for measuring concentrations of metals in aqueous and solid samples.
The graphite furnace is an electrothermal atomizer system that can produce temperatures as high as 3000°C. The heated graphite furnace provides thermal energy to break chemical bonds within the sample and produce free ground-state atoms. Ground-state atoms then are capable of absorbing light energy and are elevated to an excited state. The amount of light energy absorbed increases as the concentration of the selected element increases.
The advantages of GFAAS include:
• Greater sensitivity and detection limits than other methods
• Low spectral interference
• Very small sample size

GFAAS (Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometer) Analytik Jena AG, Germany, AAS ZEEnit 650 model equipped with Zeeman as well as deuterium background correction, uses a transverse-heated graphite tube atomizer and autosampler MPE 60.
The samples are analyzed in aqueous solution.

The analysis request should be filled and signed by the head of the institution that makes the request (Download the application form). Analyses are performed by order of submission of application in laboratory analysis. The results are given within 24 hours. In the case of samples for method development and in the case of large numbers of samples, the response time is agreed with the authority solicitor.
Upon request of an analysis the client should contact the technician directly responsible for the equipment to clarify all issues that involve the analysis.

1 - Samples must be clearly identified, so that during manipulation does not erase the identification, and should be delivered well packaged.
2 - Delivery of results will be made by e-mail in PDF format, to be sent simultaneously to the applicant and responsible. In the case of complaints, they should be made within 15 working days.
3 - The remainder of the samples will be stored in the laboratory for 15 days after completion of the analysis, after which will be eliminated.
